Dating Nightmares

How many dates have you been on that were terrible? Were they as bad as mine? If so I’m sorry, but you are not alone. Welcome to dating nightmares.

I got married at 23 and was divorced by 24. So you could say my dating life for the last 9 years has been a wild ride ( until meeting my boyfriend who I’m with now). Especially since I have not always been so healthy. Well I was toxic AF for a majority of my 20’s. For years I blamed myself and ” attracting the wrong men”. For years I wasn’t sure how to get out of the toxic cycle and didn’t know that I actually liked it. When I finally got out of it I was ashamed of it. Now, that I am healing I understand the need for it. I have grown so much in the last 10 years and so thankful for the opportunity to help others. Now that I can laugh and journaling is therapeutic I am going to give you guys some dating nightmares, but where do we start with so many to choose from… hahah

Let’s start with an easy one. I met this guy online ( of course hello 2021 and online dating) and when I went to meet him at the restaurant he didn’t quite look like his picture but I sat down anyway. Everything was going okay. Normal dinner, talking, kind of forced conversation but fine and then he said ” do I look like my picture”. I responded….. ” um kind of it looks like maybe it was a younger photo”. Well THAT DID NOT GO WELL. He became very upset and spent the remaining part of dinner defending his pictures and how he looked like them. I sat there quietly while he defended his pictures thinking about what I was going to do tomorrow and how to block his number and how tired I was. When he continued to ask me what about the pictures made him NOT LOOK LIKE THEM and go through every detail I said listen it’s not that big of a deal I need to go to bed I have work in the morning. He was so confused on why …… umm because you just spent 40 minutes trying to convince me you looked like your pictures sir from 5 years ago when you were younger instead of just taking new photos or admitting they were older. NO THANK YOU.

FYI I went online a dating 3 years after this interaction and he was STILL using the same photos. hahahahahaha
